WWI Internment Camps

During the time of war, some people living in Canada who had come from the countries which were at war with Britain and the commonwealth countries, were evacuated from their homes and sent to live in internment camps. The government was afraid that they would work against Canada from within however, it was harsh treatment for many innocent people who wanted nothing more than to live peacefully in their new country.
